Happy Anniversary A 🤍 May 24, 2020 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏽6 years Happy Anniversary A 🤍 May 24, 2020 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏽6 years married and a lifetime to go ✨ The year I married him for his health insurance…LOL let me explain myself 😂 We got engaged in South Africa in April 2019 and put down the deposit for our dream destination wedding in Thailand in January 2020…and well, we all know what happened a few months later, COVID🥲 At the time, I had torn my ACL, lost my corporate job because of COVID, and suddenly had no health insurance. Surgeries were starting to get pushed and canceled, and somehow the universe was on our side because a random Sunday appointment opened up for us to get married at city hall😭 No jewelry stores were open due to COVID, but we managed to find some nice rubber wedding rings @walmart 💍 Flowers from @wholefoods and my sister in law surprised us with a wedding cake from @dessertworksbakery 🍰 So yes…we got married on a Sunday and I had ACL surgery later that same week LOL. Definitely not how we imagined our wedding story, but honestly I wouldn’t change a thing. This was actually wedding Number 1 out of 3 🤣 When Thailand finally reopened, they still weren’t allowing Americans in yet, so we ended up having our big wedding celebration in Boston in June 2021 instead. We planned that wedding in 12 weeks or so…it was WILD! 🤪 Then in November 2022, we finally made it to Thailand and used our original wedding credit for our babymoon while I was 7 months pregnant 🥹✨ Nothing about our story went according to plan, but somehow it all worked out exactly the way it was supposed to.
